Hi
My name is Ruth and I have a 14 week old baby girl. My husband has lived in Dubai since last Ocotber and I stayed in Scotland to have our baby. We are now moving out to be with my husband in September who lives in the Marina near the yacht club.
I looking to meet up with other mums and get to know the place once im out there. In the mean time it would be great to hear from you with any info on the places to go and see. It would also be good to know things like is the tap water safe to make up bottles or would I use bottled water.
Look forward to hearing from you all
Love Ruth xxx

Hi ruth,
welcome to dubai, dont worry bout the water wen u reach here u can call up masafi u can find them online and order 4 gallon bottles, they deliver at your doorstep u could use tat for the baby and for drinking , for cooking tap water is perfectly safe...
As to dubai basically 6 months thru summer its extermely hot to step outside but once the winter starts its perfect for parks, there are beautiful parks in dubai with bbq stations and its lovely to see the greenery considering this is a desert, there is the jumeirah beach park where u have both the park and the beach alongside...
The JBR walk is excellent, just behind marina, and marina is sandwiched between two of the most popular malls The mall of emirates(MOE) and Ibn Battutta....and if u dont drive u have the metro taking u to almost all the major malls, some metro stations are a walk in to the malls...
Ibn battutta is a totally different experience its a themed mall with stunning interiors...but i think kids will love dubai mall more coz of its huge aquarium and aqua zoo...
Then there is the dolphinarium, madinat jumeirah(be sure to try the abra(traditional boat) ride there).
In MOE u have the ski dubai, indoor ski slope...and there is also a mall in marina called the dubai marina mall.
For dining out JBR(jumeirah beach residence) behind marina,walkable...gives u the option to have any kind of cuisine tat u could possibly think of...
Tats basically wat i can think of in and around marina...or new dubai as its called....
